The multimedia, gaming, and visualization laboratory
provides high performance video processing for game creation and
multimedia applications. Dell XPS 720 and XPS lap top machines with NVidia 8800 graphics processors are
available to students in an open environment. The XPS lap tops may be checked out for limited periods of time. A gaming test bed may be used to test game creations. Televising services within the OSU close circuit system are available in this room with a high definition room camera and an integrated lap top for Powerpoint or other presentations both in a direct display mode and through the televising mechanism. These images are seen on a projectable dry erase board so the presenter may draw and talk along side the images. Capability of switching on the fly from the HD camera in the room to the presenter's slides is available. Additionally, a green screening capability is now possible and can be televised throughout the OSU closed circuit network; it can also be switch dynamically to slides only or the room's image.
This room extends the resources of the computer science department for graphics experimentation, televising with green screening, and lap top integration of presenters slides.
