New Course for Spring 2009

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at creating video games? This course will give you that chance!
The theory and pragmatics of video game development will be presented, and students will be given the opportunity to learn and demonstrate game development skills by creating games in both individual and team-based settings.
The topics that will be covered include:
- Computer graphics concepts, techniques, and tools;
- Audio concepts, techniques, and tools;
- Artificial Intelligence for non-player characters;
- Game engines;
- The C# programming language and XNA game framework for PC and XBOX 360 game development;
- Development on handheld devices;
- An overview of the game industry.
Prerequisite knowledge and courses:
- Computer Science II (CS2133);
- A good working knowledge of C/C++;
- Calculus I (MATH 2144).
